Hong Kong to Home

Just before we landed in Hong Kong I began to feel very unwell.  Walking through the airport I was sweating, nauseous and shaky.  In the airport there are signs everywhere advising if you are unwell you must report it and then it will be determined if you will be allowed to fly. So I went through immigration and security trying to pretend I wasn't sweating, shaky and about to throw up.  Luckily I remembered I had a super anti-nausea tab in my carry-on, so crisis mostly averted.

I made it to my room at Regal Airport Hotel, without having to step outside the air conditioning.  I had watched a YouTube vid of walking from customs to the hotel, so I knew the way very well.  How cool is the internet for stuff like that?  I had a shower and slept well for a few hours and then took up my complementary full body relaxation oil massage.  It was sensational; just the ticket for cramped travelling back and shoulders.  I did get the giggles at one stage as the tiny woman working her magic and oil into my body, I imagined her surveying the mass before her and sending an urgent "we're gunna need more oil!" message.

More bed and fluffy bathrobe time before heading to the airport for 8pm departure.  While lolling about I checked out the weather in my favourite Greenland place.  Temps had dropped considerably since I was there, so my timing was great it seems.

I was feeling much better by departure time and Qantas Club food was wonderful.  Going through security my asthma puffer warranted attention for the first time, so again I was taken out of the queue.  One last surprise security check of everyone's carry on at the boarding gate delayed things a while, but finally I was aboard my last flight.  An uneventful flight I think, the meals weren't too flash but I managed a few hours sleep.

Arrived back in Brisbane around 6am.  One of my cases was one of the first on the carousel.  Alas the smaller suitcase did not appear at all.  After waiting around 40 minutes watching everyone else's cases, and getting slightly giddy and wondering if I was just not seeing it; I went to report it missing.

My welcome crew, the wonderful Rod and Brian, unfortunately had to wait around all this time.

Suitcase was eventually delivered to me three days later.  Everything in it was replaceable, apart from SD Card, so I wasn't too stressed about it.   Lucky it happened on the last leg of the trip and not at a more crucial time.

The trip was absolutely everything I dreamed it would be.  Iceberg Alley was a magical experience and I feel so blessed to have made such a trip.  Thanks everyone for support and love.  xxx
